For the last few years my mom talked about how much she wanted to find a nice nativity set for displaying around Christmas time. I kept an eye out for one, but was never able to find one that I felt fit my mom’s preferences. Last year, I got an idea for an all white, layered papercut nativity piece for her, but wasn’t able to make it in time for Christmas, so I decided I would definitely make it this year as a gift for her. My mom unexpectedly passed away in March of this year, so while I am unable to give her the nativity I designed for her, I still decided to make it in her memory.
The cloche is mounted inside of a 5.5″ tall glass jar (it has a diameter of 4″). In the center of the design is an LED battery operated tealight candle to showcase the layers of the paper and give a warm glow for all those Christmassy vibes. I’m selling these for $30 each, and only have 12 of these jars available.
I have decided to donate $5 from the sale of each Nativity Cloche to the Batesville Area Ministerial Association’s Food Pantry. Growing up the Food Pantry literally provided a holiday meal for my family on more than one occasion. The Pantry is completely run on donations. It was an organization near and dear to mom’s heart, so it makes the most sense to sell the nativity I designed for her and give some of the money to the food pantry in her honor.
If you’re interested in purchasing one in my mom’s memory, please reach out.
