I made a cool new thing! Check out these Tiger Eyes! They glow!!
This is made out of layers of paper (with foam spacers between each layer). I wired a strip of battery operated LED lights into the back for that beautiful backlit effect. I tried to buy a licensed cut file for this project, but the file was an absolute nightmare. I ended up having to redesign the cuts for the two most intricate layers. PLUS I had to redesign the box to encase the layered project in. I ended up spending 5-6 hours just in design work to get the project to cut correctly (that’s not including any time I spent testing the cuts and assembling the project). BUT to say I am pleased with the outcome would be an understatement!
This backlit shadow box measures roughly 8x3x1″ (not including any space the light control box takes up) and is completely made out of paper—including the box it is displayed in! These can come with or without the LED lights. The cost with lights is $40 and without is $35.
These shadow boxes come at the perfect time for Chinese New Year and because of a certain athletic tiger’s success this year. Super fun!
